Spring Boot with OpenXava

Spring Boot is the undisputed king in the Java world. Few developers use Java in an enterprise environment without using Spring. OpenXava, however, does not depend on Spring Boot. Instead, it generates standard web applications (WARs) that can be deployed on any standard Java application server, such as Tomcat.

But they are not incompatible. Spring Boot allows you to start the application without Tomcat, and Spring Framework offers a series of infrastructure-level features, while OpenXava generates the user interface automatically. There is no problem in using both together. Moreover, it is easy to do.

We already had an article in the documentation explaining how to configure Spring Boot with OpenXava, but it was quite convoluted. We have created a completely new and simplified article, which also uses a recent version of OpenXava.

We encourage you to read the article and try adding Spring Boot to your OpenXava application.
